About Corbett National Park

Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Jim Corbett National Park is India's oldest and most prestigious national park. Located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, it is the place where Project Tiger was firmly launched in 1973.

The park spans over 520 sq km and comprises hills, marshy depressions, riverine belts, grasslands, and large lake. It is renowned for its Bengal Tigers, but also hosts thriving populations of Asian Elephants, Leopards, and over 600 species of birds.
